Summer Camp Nurse

Health Center Nurse: Summer 2024

Camp Alonim is looking for experienced and compassionate Nurses. We are a co-ed sleepaway camp located on a 2,800 acre campus just south of Simi Valley, CA.

Job Description:

• Assess staff and campers' health care needs, utilizing the nursing process to plan, intervene, & evaluate care.
• Communicate with an interdisciplinary team including but not limited to campers, counselors, Health Center medical staff, Camp Leadership, and parents to maintain the continuum of care.
• Document medical care and interventions promptly.
• Prepare, organize, and administer medications as indicated.
• Work in the Health Center to provide care to campers, counselors, and staff.
• Respond to overnight emergencies as needed. Nurses rotate through shifts and are on-call (for emergencies only) for up to 2 nights a week.

Specifics:

• Camp Dates: June 16^th to August 18^th 
• Salary is $1,250 per week. This includes room, board, and access to camp facilities. Nurses are encouraged to participate in activities including climbing ropes courses, horseback riding, hiking, and much more!
• Nurses are scheduled on a weekly basis and are asked to commit to a minimum of two weeks at camp. Full-time Health Center staff live on campus. Accommodations can be made for part-time staff.
• Significant discounts are available for Health Center Staff with camp-aged children.

Qualifications:

• Active California RN license
• Current BLS Certification
• Experience with both the pediatric and adult population

The Brandeis-Bardin Campus of American Jewish University offers year-round and summer programs.  Summer programs include Gan Alonim Day Camp for campers ages 5-11, Camp Alonim overnight camp for campers ages 7-17, and Ziering Brandeis Collegiate Institute (BCI) for participants ages 20-29.
